All is Well :)
Katelyn went in to BSA on Friday afternoon for her tests. The first was a VCUG. This is a series of x-rays where a catheter is entered adn dye is pushed to fill up the bladder. Then the patient has to pee so that the flow can be watched to rule out any reflux back into the bladder, or other problems. Katelyn did really well and din't even cry when the catheter was put in. However, I had to leave her side (she could still see me, though) for the x-rays. She had a really hard time going to the bathroom in front of all those people and on the table. Luckily the radiologist specializes in pediatrics and reassured me that it is normal for a child to hesitat. After all, for 3 years she has been trained that going to the bathroom is done on the potty, no where else.
After 10-15 min, she finally gave in. The tests came back clear with no problems. The second test was a simple renal ultrasound to check her kidneys. That was simple and painless and came back clear as well.
The staff was wonderful and gave Katelyn a goodie bag complete with crayons, princess papers, animal crackers and apple juice. Katelyn was very happy when she got to open her cookies :).
We completed the day with her first pedicure with mommy getting one to match! Very FUN!! and some shopping.
CUTE NOTE: At dinner Saturday night, Katelyn was incharge of putting sugar in our tea. A got a refill and looked at her and asked her "Can you give me two sugars please?" Her response was two sweet little kisses. It was absoulutely adorable and melted my heart! TOO CUTE! (Some of the waitstaff saw it and agreed it was very very cute!)
